Hello, I’m Anastasia.
Anastasia Garcia is a Mexican-American writer of horror and speculative fiction. Anastasia’s writing journey begins at the tender age of 11 when she wrote her first screenplay, a murder mystery.
Today Anastasia’s writing appears in online publications like Corvid Queen and Mixed Mag; in podcasts like Lunatics Radio Hour; and in print anthologies like Weird Horror from Flame Tree Press, The Deep from Ghost Orchid Press, and Shadow Atlas: Dark Landscapes of the Americas from Hex Publishers. Her writing has appeared in publications alongside horror authors Josh Malerman, Tim Waggoner, Gwendolyn Kiste, and many more.
Anastasia’s first book, GHOSTLY, GHASTLY TALES will be published from Gibbs Smith in July 2024. In 2o22, Anastasia joined the Horror Writers Association. In 2020, Anastasia was awarded the Ladies of Horror Fiction writer’s grant.
In her free time, Anastasia reads 50 books a year and runs an all-women book club called Fiction Addiction with over 2000 members. She is also a member of the Capitol Hill Speculative Fiction Writing Group. Originally from Texas, Anastasia is a graduate of the University of Texas in Austin and is heavily influenced by the local myths and legends. She now works at Pinterest and lives in New York City.
